SHEDLOVSKY, THEODORE

SHEDLOVSKY, THEODORE (1898–1976), U.S. physical chemist. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Shedlovsky went to the U.S. in 1908. From 1927 he worked at the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research (now the Rockefeller University), and became professor there in 1957. He wrote mainly on the electrochemistry of solutions and of biological fluids and was the author of Electrochemistry in Biology and Medicine (1955). He became a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.
